Game Review: Simpson's game (all consoles)

by Pat Johnson

The yellow cartoon dynasty was built on parody and wit, but most of the games have felt like soulless copies of successful games. Not so here. While the game play can be repetitive and the levels simplistic, the real star is the writing. All the show's voice actors participate and from the laughs it got, probably most of the writers too. Even the self-referenciality of the series plays a key role here as the characters know they're in a video game. It may not be great, but it's good with lots of gags and surprises. Plus, its co-op play (you always play as two characters) makes it a strong pick for gamer couples. Unless you hate the show, I strongly endorse a rental.
